Story
Hey everyone,
I am off to the wilderness of Borneo for 13 days for Greenpeace’s Borneo Jungle Challenge 2012!
Here I will unite my passion for the planet with my never-satisfied sense of outdoor adventure. I will trek amongst heritage-listed forests (complete with leeches!), swim through underground caves, take a skywalk and come face-to-face with endangered orangutans.
Here I will unite my passion for the planet with my never-satisfied sense of outdoor adventure. I will trek amongst heritage-listed forests (complete with leeches!), swim through underground caves, take a skywalk and come face-to-face with endangered orangutans.
All sounds pretty nice, don't you think? Well unless we pick up our act there won't be any heritage-listed rainforests brimming with endemic biodiversity to explore. These forests are being devastated to provide the world with cheap timber and timber products, and then turned into barren monocultures of palm oil plantations. And the worst thing is, these timber and oils are in everyday products that we have in every home.
All donations made will help Greenpeace to investigate, expose and confront those responsible for forest destruction and provide viable solutions to protecting forests around the world.
